Protests are filled with emotion. I try to capture the energy, emotion, and general mood of protests with photography. Every image here shows a human being who is not being treated well fighting for better treatment, in some way, shape, or form. I also do some work outside of organized protests, in a sense creating a protest in its own right. While I love using film, digital is a much better format for protests, as it allows the images to be shared much faster, spreading the message of the protest from one small area to around the globe. I still shoot a bit of film work for protests, focusing more on individuals and "behind the scenes" aspects.
